DW Marine had their company soft launch, introducing the revolutionary technique and business opportunity of breeding Giant Tiger Grouper, the hybridization group that originated from Sabah. For food lover, Giant Tiger Grouper is no doubt one of the tastiest seafood serve on the table, yet much difficult to cook compare to other seafood.
Hybrid Giant Grouper was produced by fertilising the eggs of the tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) with the sperm of the giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus) through the in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) technique. It’s not only mature faster but able to withstand the vagaries of environmental conditions.
As the high demand for grouper has taken the seafood industry by storm, the increase of supply to local and worldwide market will help farmer earn a premium price through export.
More research on both science and marketing for this species of grouper is needed.
